Anyone allergic to sulphites in fizzy and concentrated drinks.?
My daughter has an allergic reaction that makes her feel like her throat is swollen and she can't swallow/breathe. After a few minutes it wears off.
Just wondered how common this is, as most drinks that contain sulphites have an allergy warning.

Foods I believe are supposed to be marked if they contain sulphites, or maybe just sulfur, for the allergic reactions they can produce in people.

For myself, I used to go to the neighborhood market late at night and pick up some dried fruit. I eventually noticed that I would regularly wake up with a sore throat. After a little internet research, I concluded that the sulphur that was used as a preservative in the making of those dried fruits could have triggered an allergic reaction in me. It seems supported that dried fruits containing sulphur-based preservatives do not react well with my system, as a couple times after consuming unmarked dried fruit led to my having a sore throat the next day. I have never had an allergic reaction that I know of to fizzy or concentrated drinks. I do not drink wine. I am unfamiliar of other drinks with sulphites in them.

Currently I have a sore throat that feels like an allergic reaction. I get itchy a bit when I have canteloupe, and I had a lot of it last night, but I'm unsure if that's the main cause. I don't think I've consumed any foods treated with sulfur-based preservatives recently--I usually check now, and don't buy stuff with sulfur in it. I found your question because I'm looking for help!
