Will moving to the seaside sort out my constant mucus hacking?
I don't smoke, eat healthily, not much dairy, exercise regularly, etc. But over the last few years I have to hack up mucus every few hours. The mornings are worst and I find my self wretching then and during the day because of it. It can be a real problem at work when I can't find a quiet place to clear my throat.

I've been to see the doctor and was told it's post-nasal drip, caused by England's damp climate and that there's no treatment for it. But I've seen documentaries about singers who have moved to areas with clearer air for the sake of their voices, would a move to the sea side help?

Instead of such a drastic change, try a simple bedside humidifier to assist with increasing the moisture in your airway. Increase your fluid intake to help thin out your secretions: 8 glasses of water a day is best.
Use a plain saline nose spray at night before bed to moisturize your mucosae before sleep and remember that warm, moist air is probably best for you. If all else fails, a trial period seaside may be the right answer for you.
I hope you find an easy remedy, good luck!

Is there any place damper than the sea side? In the summer, it gets very humid (damp) by the sea side. So I am thinking no...moving to the sea side is not a good idea. Arizona has a hot, arid, and dry climate.

Good Luck.

My husband swears by a saline spray which he makes up himself (he found the recipe on the web)
1/4 tsp sea salt with 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda. Dissolve together in a full tumbler of luke warm water.
He squirts this up his nose morning and night and it keeps his post-nasal drip at bay.
Nasonex is also helpful but you will need a prescription from your doc

There is no guarantee, everyone is different. I am asthmatic and moved to the Isle of Wight only to find that my asthma got worse due to the windy conditions. I have now moved back to the mainland.
