What can i do/say to stop my friends from smoking?

they are 14. how can i tell them to stop! they dont listen! they dont smoke a lot but i want them to stop!...

kimber911oo	Nothing. They don't care what you want. They are 14 and only care about themselves. That's what 14 year old's do. Duh.
Linda W	There is nothing you can say that will make them stop smoking. You could tell their parents but you might not have them as friends anymore. I remember I tried smoking when I was about your age but I didn't like it because it left a bad taste in my mouth so I didn't keeep it up. Maybe that's what your friends are doing now - experimenting.Lets hope so and that they will give it up, too. Good luck!.
DocDnStLouie	Unfortunately if they dont listen there is not a whole lot you can say or do without looking like a complete nag. Just be supportive and be there for them. We all know the dangers of smoking and the end results. Why people continue to smoke is beyond me.
kay_flood	all you can do is tell them you don't want to be around them when they smoke. Whether or not they get smart and quit is up to them, not you.
oj	Tell them "you're f'n crazy dude! If you want to end up on oxygen when you're 40, that's fine, but keep it the hell away from me." Then stick to it. Don't ride in the car with smokers, don't stay in the same room, etc. If they value your company, they'll either quit or step outside.
HoyaDoc	tell them they stink. you're not being mean, it's true! smokers stink! meanwhile, hang out with someone else - and way to go for recognizing their stupidity.
