I have asthma, so naturally I try to stay away from smokers. But I don't think that everyone should stop smoking, I mean if someone knows all the health risks of smoking and they still decide to smoke, then what's wrong with that? At least they know what could happen to them. I know some people get addicted to cigarettes, but they have a right to smoke do they not? I don't think anyone has the right to try and stop someone from smoking. So does anyone else agree with me on this?

Cigarettes are the only product on the market that if used as directed by the manufacturer, will result in death.

Man, I'm on the fence about outlawing smoking. On one hand, it's a free country and if you want to kill your self or live on an oxygen tank the rest of your life, then go ahead and smoke. On the other hand, smokers are more likely not to have health insurance and the increased medical bills they have will end up being taking out of my tax dollars and insurance premiums.

I don't agree with you. Smokers hurt the people who love them. Sometimes it's through second hand smoke; at other times, it's from living with the fear that their smoking will kill them and at other times, it's watching them die. I should know. I was a smoker and now have severe emphysema. I also think it should be banned. Our constitutions says the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No where does it say you have the right to kill yourself and make your family miserable. So just keep staying away from smokers and you'll do fine. Just hope you and others rethink your opinion on this so called "right" BTW, it was a good question.

You are correct. It is our right. I have been smoking 24 years now, and I haven't head 1 smoking related illness. My father is 64, and he's been smoking for almost 50 years, and at one time was a 3 pack a day smoker, and like me, not 1 smoking related illness. I don't cough, or hack like some people either.
