Vit K takes 6-24 hours to work
.He is in the best place so don't worry.

I couldn't tell you, your hubby must have cancer to me or maybe TB i hope he has a good speedy recovery. i know its a awful ordeal but try not to worry has if your hubby sees you worry this would not make your hubby happy.

Giovanna
I'm not sure how long vitamin K takes to start thickining the blood, but it is a fact Vitamin K’s importance as a blood-clotting agent is well established. Ask your hubby's doc, but if his blood is still thin while taking vitamin K he can eat foods high in vitamin K such as:

Turnip greens, raw 1/2 cup
Spinach, frozen 1/2 cup
Liver, beef 3 ounces
Cauliflower, raw 1/2 cup
Soybean oil 1 tablespoon
Broccoli, raw 1/2 cup
Green cabbage, raw 1/2 cup
Tomato 1 medium
Egg yolk 1
Milk 1 cup
Corn oil 1 tablespoon

dont worry hun it will take a couple of days then he will be fine!! best wishes..x

Depending on how his body metabolizes the warfarin it should not take long. I went from an INR of over 7. to 1.2 after eating a bowl of cooked broccoli in a few hours. ( my target is 3-4.5.) I hope that they checked for clotting as much as they are able before taking this measure.

The doctor will do a complete physical exam and check your chest and lungs. Tests that may be done include:
* Bronchoscopy
* Chest CT scan
* Chest x-ray
* Coagulation studies such as PT or PTT
* Complete blood count
* Lung biopsy
* Lung scan
* Pulmonary arteriography
* Sputum culture and smear
