if i was smoking, that would be the least of my worries

-yes, i suppose it could

Lighting up in restaurants and other no-smoking areas can certainly cause you to break a sweat, as you're chased out by all the angry non-smokers.

It sure does, not just can, increase the rate of metabolism in the body system resulting in sweating and tiring. This minor effect can get to as big as causing a heart attack in certain circumstances!

Christina
It sure can.

Well, since nicotine is a stimulant, and stimulants as you know speed up the biological processes in the body, I would have to say yes. I'm sure cigarettes can cause excessive sweating.

yes, some of the chemicals, including nicotine can cause and increase in heart rate and blood pressure. this causes an increase in body temp and thus your body sweats to cool off.

Smoking causes loss of vitamins of the B group ( as well as other essential vitamins) Lack of vitamin B 6 ( I think that is the one) results in excessive perspiration.

It doesn't help but it's not a primary cause.

Hyperhidrosis can be caused by food allergies, or a mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had it for a long time before learning this.

Check out this article about hyperhidrosis, grains, and sugars. Scroll about halfway down the page.

I had hyperhidrosis and other symptoms for many years. I tried all the usual treatments including ETS surgery, prescriptions, antiperspirants, botox, etc. The surgery was most helpful but several years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

This year I was diagnosed with food allergies due to celiac disease. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and sugar from my diet. I stopped all prescriptions and began taking supplements with B Vitamins, Folic Acid, magnesium and other minerals.
