You seem to have diagnosed yourself, so if you go to the emergency room a real doctor will figure out if you need more tests run and if it is actually your liver that is causing you pain. You definitely should seek medical help by professionals. I would go to the emergency room. |

Depending upon your signs and syptoms they may run tests to determine if you need to be admitted... |

ER all required to admit anyone that comes there and to examine them. If they find something in examination worthy of being admitted, they will then most likely admit you to the hospital. |

I have to crack this first, you call yourself what? VOODOO daddy, perhaps someone put some VOODOO on you, couldn't resist that one!! Now on a serious note, How do you know it's your liver? But the answer is YES,they might admit you if it is really serious and if so they should do a liver biopsy, but you might have to have a primary doctor to follow up with.. Good Luck """""""" |

Maybe. It could be serious. They may not keep you over night but they WILL keep you for quite awhile to run tests. |

maybe. if it isn't that serious, they'll move you to a different room. it would be pretty expensive if your insurance doesn't cover it. maybe you should just visit your regular doctor. |

I dont if they will admit you. I guess it depends on what they find. I had a pain in my lower abdomen and was in excutiating pain and they did run some tests. It took about 5 hours and the conclusion was made that I have IBS. So, it will probably depend on what they discover. Good luck! |

they will check you first, then decide whether you need admitting or not. How do you know its your liver, it could be other things. Like bad gas. |

First of all, if you are sitting here with a pain in your liver (if it is indeed a liver pain) that is excruciating, why are you on Yahoo answers? If you go to the emergency room with excruciating pain, they will examine you and determine through triage whether you are ill enough to be admitted to the hospital. I hate to say it, but it will also probably depend on whether you have insurance. Or if you have a history of drug seeking behavior. You might just be constipated, you know. |

if they think it's your liver, they might do some blood tests to find out if it is. the problem is, about 40% of the time, people come in with abdominal pain, and a diagnosis is never found. it's not uncommon; just a result of all of the organ tissue in the abdominal cavity. for abdominal pain, they would only admit you if it was a surgical issue, or something like you had a new diagnosis of pancreatitis. if you had something like hep c they probably wouldn't admit you; just make sure you had adequate followup as an outpatient. |
