My friend has this little bubble on her thumb and smaller ones surrounding the bigger bubble and it looks as if there are tiny dots inside that.. And so its really red like a bruise, from there its like a long thinning line which looks like a bruise going down here arm and it kinda follows down like a vain and it finishes on her upper arm. If anyone knows what this is please let me know :) she's going to the doctor tomorrow but I'm curious to know what this is. Thank you

The bumps are a mystery but the red line sounds like lead poisoning. The line usually goes up the arm till it reaches the heart. Good luck to your friend.

a bad infection. go to the doctor!

Junkie
Take her to a doctor as soon as possible.
It sounds like a infection.

Sounds as if she has either an infection that is following a vein or nerve or she may have sepsis or septicemia which is commonly called blood poisoning. Either way it is something serious and should be seen as soon as possible.

This is serious, this is a type of blood poisioning. I had this as a child from ripping off a hang nail which got seriously infected. If left untreated the bacterium can actually set in around the heart. It won't cause immediate damage but, like the strep bacteria, it can cause heart failure down the road. Get her to the emergency room asap.

Yikes.
I'm not a doctor, but from the little I've heard, it sounds like it could possibly be a brown recluse spider bite.
You might google the symptoms and see if she's experiencing any of them.
Hope she feels better soon.

if there is a red line following a vein down her arm it may be blood poisoning and she needs to go to the hospital right away before the red line gets to her heart

why be normal
Sounds like she has some type of infection, the travelling up the arm worries me. That's not good.Get to Hosp asap! Good luck.

it kind of sounded like a wart of some kind at first
but then when oyu said about the long thinning line, it sounds more like an infection to me

glad to hear she's going to the doc tmrw

MR HENRY S
This is blood poisoning, calling for an immediate visit to the hospital ER.Untended it can rapidly become fatal, especially if it gets to the armpit. Before antibiotics this would have called for immediate amputation above the red line mark

okay seriously if she has red lines radiating up her arm that is a sign of blood poisoning.
she needs a doctor ASAP!

it sounds like she has Shingles

The main symptoms of the eruptive stage involve a skin rash, which usually involves:

Redness of the skin followed by swelling or bumps.
From the bumps, blisters then form that contain clear fluid. The blisters become pustules (pimple-like sores) and crusts (scabs).

-- The rash almost always appears in a band or patch on just one side of the body.
-- Any part of the body can be involved, including the back, chest, abdomen, arms, legs, or face.
-- Symptoms may range from only mildly bothersome to itchy to really painful.
-- New blisters may continue to appear for up to 5 days.
-- Within 14 days, a scab forms.
-- The rash usually goes away in about 3 to 5 weeks.

It's definately an infection - another concern may be blood poisoning - because of the line running up to her upper arm. Please let us know she is ok. We are not doctors I am so glad she is seeing the doctor tommorrow. Heres to a speedy recovery.

The red line from the site of the infection does not sound good, she should probably see a doctor as soon as possible. I would take her into the emergency room.

It sounds like some sort of infection on bug is in her skin. Its good that she has already made an appointment.

The red marks running up the arm towards the heart could mean blood poisoning.....a very serious condition. As far as what the bubble is on her thumb, I can't really say. She needs to go to the doctor or hospital ASAP!

SuperC142
It could be an infection, but the line running from the site of the problem sounds like it could, potentially, be extremely serious. If it were me, I would go to the emegency room.

Yes i think they should go to the hospital as soon as they can.
Sounds like blood poisoning....might of started with a cut or infection.....I stepped on a nail a few years ago, i cleaned it out really good, didn't think nothing about it, then a day later i noticed a red line going up my leg.....sure enough it was blood poisoning. Its very serious! They need to get it looked at right away! Good luck and i hope they end up all right!

This is serious. Don't wait until tomorrow. Get her to the ER.

She has a blood infection. That's the streak going up her arm.
If it has made it to her armpit, then it could infect her lymph nodes. That is VERY dangerous. I'm talking fatality. I've had two blood infections. I've had doctors tell me this.

They will lance her finger pustule, drain it and probably shoot her up with a broad spectrum antibiotic. They will give her a prescription for antibiotics too. Make sure she takes them until they are gone, even if the infection looks like it's gone.

Honestly, if it has made it to her armpit, she could be in serious trouble. I wouldn't wait until tomorrow.

If the dots are perfectly spaced she may have chiggers or another type of bug under her skin, it could be a reaction to something she brushed against or it brushed against her and she didnt know it.
