You need to see a doctor of sports medicine and take care of it right away.

friend
As u say u dont want 2 go to the doctor so confidently means the pain is still in bearble limit(But enough for u to bother u)

I think ur problem can be solved by a good oil massage at an ayurvedic clinic.

The reason could be u have Stretched ur tendons or ur muscles.

Dont strain ur hands and stop dancing for atleast 6 months if u want to get rid of it without even going for the massage.

I had stretched my ligament in a foot ballmatch and stopped even runnin a few steps for atleast 1 whole year and now that pain has never come bak while the pain gradually was going down till completely gone.

Dude, you should really go to the doctor even if you don't want it. Unless, you want it to be a SERIOUS injury. The doctor will spot some problems with your wrist, not here on Yahoo Answers! We don't know how you doin there.

B-Man
A doctor is your best choice man you don't know what kind of damage might have happend (nerves, tendons, bone, muscle) all if this is under the skin. if you can't afford a doctor go to a free clinic or urgent care you may not have to pay anything up front but at least you'll know what is "really" wrong. unless you're a breakdancing doctor. i wouldn't sit on this for to long. unless you LIKE being in pain.

dont ask
you're an idiot

It's possible that you had a 'greenstick' fracture; where the bone twists and the break runs up the bone, just like a green stick would do if you twisted it. My guess is that you have a fracture that was not set properly, and is not not in correct alignment.

Bad news: You may have to get it re-broken and set properly unless you want a lifetime of pain and possible nerve damage later on in life. *sighing* Yes, this means you will have to go to a doctor. There are many little bones in your wrist, and wrists are quite weak. You could have calcium deposits from a badly-healed break. You need x-rays. You need a trip to a sports medicine doctor. Sorry, but this is the only way you will get any definitive answers about the damage already done, and what (if anything) can be done to fix it.

leo
sounds like a bad sprain - I would go to the nearest urgent care and get it x-rayed , cost about $100.00- hope it gets better for you

jessereczek
It sounds to me like you may have a rather serious fracture. Keeping it wrapped relatively tightly ( however not so tight that it causes the circulation of blood in your arm to cease) and minimal movement of the ENTIRE arm is what I would recommend. DO NOT ICE OR HEAT THE AREA as this will simply cause the bone to splinter (similar to frost heaves in the road during the winter time). Good Luck!!

xratedmami05
I work at a dr. office. What we usually do is when patients come in and the dr. looks at it we send the patient to get an X-ray done. Once results come back we send patients to a specialist. in your case you need to see a hand surgeon. Don't wait long b/c it will get worse. Sorry to break it to you but u have to see a dr. there aren't any home remedies. lol good luck

No doctors, huh. Okay. Go to a medical supply store and buy a wrist and/or arm splint. The store attendant will show you how to wrap it right. Once splinted you will need to decrease your usage of it and let it begin to heal. If its been several months then if it was cracked it probably has already healed incorrectly. If it's a bad sprain the splint will keep it isolated so the swelling and tissue damages heals. Keep it elevated and use something to squeeze, like a tennis ball, so you keep the muscles working and the blood flowing. Wrap heat around it for 20 mins or so and then apply ice for 20mins or so and this helps pump healing blood in and out of the area.

Good luck

You may have sprained your wrist, rather than broken it. Sprains can actually be worse than breaks in terms of healing. A break usually heals in about six weeks; a bad sprain can take much longer. You could also have a torn ligament.

If you have not had any medical treatment and you're continuing to use your arm, you could be causing more injury to it. My recommendation is to have your arm x-rayed to see if there is a break or not, and what steps should be taken to heal it. That's really the only way to know for sure.

If you injure yourself and it doesn't get better with rest after a few DAYS you should see a doctor. If you can't get in to see the doctor for a few days, try a wrist immobilizing splint, like for carpal tunnel syndrome (you can get them at pharmacies) to keep from causing more injury. You might also wear it LOOSELY strapped at night (just enough so you can't bend your wrist, don't wrap it tight--you could cause serious injury!), so you're not bending your wrist during sleep. But do NOT substitute a splint for seeing the doctor! You still should be seen! You could have serious soft tissue damage that only surgery will repair, and the longer you wait the worse it will be.

wrap it in an ace bandage-wrap, and put a brace on it

I think you should go to a doctor and have some1 take x-rays cause you probably broke something really bad and the longer u wait it will probably get worse ... In the mean time Put ice on it when it hurts .... And dont use that arm so much untll you go to a doctor ...

sounds to me like carpal tunnel but I am not a Dr. I had it and it hurt like h**l. I had to have surgery to repair it. The only way to know for sure is see a Dr. but if it has hurt that long there is a good chance that's what it is. Good luck

ThereseRose
You really need to go to an ER about this and get it X-rayed. You should have done it when it happened.

If there is no swelling you may have torn a ligament or muscle which I am sorry to say will not get better on its own. If you had mobilized it at the time of injury it may have healed better, but after such a long period it will have to be seen by a doctor . Its too late for a quick fix. I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to here so I'm sure I won't get the 10 points!

kristina
Go see an Ostiotrition. or bone doctor. More than likely you severely sprained it or have a small fracture. He will look at it, and help you get it taken care of.

it wont heal until its set and a cast is put on it, although you said its been a few months they might have to rebreak it or do surgery you should look for a orthopedic doctor in your area but depending on your insurance you might have to go to your family doctor and get a referal if you have neither go to the ER they will help you! good luck hope this helped!

blkrose65
you need to go see a doctor.

You may want to see a doctor. They could tell you definitively what is wrong. However, if you are concerned about money, you could go to a free clinic. If you don't want to or can't, you should put it in a splint. To do that, get a rod or something long, hard, and stable and wrap that and your arm in gauze or some other cloth looping it around your neck and tying the knot on the opposite side of the body as your arm.
hope that helps, but you really should see a doctor.
REALLY.
taking advice like this off the internet can be dangerous and if you take mine, you are doing it at your own risk. It should temporarily immoblize the wrist, until you can see a professional about it.

Crispy critter
Sounds like you yanked some ligaments and maybe tore some cartilage, Use a wrist brace for 2 months , the buy small 2.5 lb wrist weights , use for 1 month, then increase to 5lbs if you feel you are ready, for 1 month . if pain is still severe with wrist brace before weights , go see you doctor, the damage could be very extensive. Good luck!
for immediate relief use ice.

Can't get enough volleyball!
don't move it just keep it in something straight.

Well first of all, put ice on it! That will reduce any swelling and pain if any. Second, it could be possible that you have a very small fracture, which may require a cast, so go see a doctor and get an X-ray to ensure its not broken. And so until you see a doctor who can tell you for sure if its broken or not, go get a wrist brace and ice it.

You need to see an othopedist or a physiatrist. You may have torn some tendons or ligaments, but you need to have a doctor examine it to determine what the injury is and what needs to be done to repair the damage.

Have you gone to a doctor yet? It might be a sprain or a strain. That can take anywhere from a few weeks to a year to heal. I would stay off of it, and use ice if it starts to hurt too badly. 20 minutes with the ice, and 1 hour without it. Do not keep the ice on for too long, because that can cause damage in and of itself. I hope you heal up soon, babe!
