Has anyone ever been to a&e; and then felt better?
i did it earlier after smashing into a tree on a swing!..i was sure i'd smashed my pelvis and had done internal damage but apparently i've just bruised it!!i feel like i wasted everyones time but surely it's better to be safe than sorry...what would you have done though?

I would have gone to A&E, someone qualified needs to clear you. if you'd have not gone and had damaged your pelvis or ruptured your liver you have been f--cked.
I went to A&E last time i passed out cos i banged my head it hurt and my eye went all funny. They said i should only go if hd any new symptoms.

i went to a@e a few times..very nice it was too..lovely nurses.

There is no need to feel bad about it. You don't have x-ray eyes to tell yourself whether you had fractured your pelvis.

i would have done the same as you, you did the right thing.

and yes i have been to a n e several times and been made better. the majority of the staff in casualty are fantastic workers, doing an extremely stressful job carrying a great deal of responsibilty.

Not going to the doctor or emergency room when there is a chance you are seriously injured or ill can be a fatal mistake. You should never wait and see how you feel in the morning if there is a chance you need medical assistance now.

Dont feel its a waist of time as that is what they are there for and if you hadn't of gone, whats to say it could have been serious then you would have wrote a different question.
I had been in waiting where the doctor had sent me in thinkin I had meningitis. After waiting and dozing off I had woke to find I was feelin OK. It turned out it was a severe migraine attack, but it was comforting to know that was what it was.

Well, I would think that going to A&E would make you feel better. That's kind of the point, isn't it?

I think what you did was right. If you are in that much pain then it's always better to be safe than sorry. I don't think you wasted anyone's time. Taking care of people who are in pain is a part of their job, even if it turns out that you're okay.

Smashing into a tree with a swing isn't the brightest thing to do. Mind you, I smashed my wrist by accidentally riding a motorbike head on into a wall. Now THAT was dumb...

You did exactly the right thing. As i work in A & E we see potentially life threatening injuries to pelvis's. It is defeanitely worth getting it checked out. At the end of the day if everyone worried about coming to A & E we wouldn't have a job!
