Either take some stool softener or drink some strong coffee or tea and sit in a bathtub of pretty warm water for 15 minutes and relax.
Don't strain to go or you will get hemorrhoids or rectal tare.

Well cat I hear some people drink a cup of coffee, that makes them go. Others have said prune juice is helpful.I do suggest that u consult with your Dr. to establish at a minimum of a BM every 3rd day. The risk & cost of a fecal impaction is not where u want to go. Milk of magnesia can be bought over the counter- take it every 2nd night to promote a BM on the 3rd day. Drink lots of water & get regular exercise.

in that kind of situation try to relax yourself and do some of the constipation remedies below:
- eat food rich in fiber. Fruits and vegetables are a very good example. Example of fruits that are high in fiber are apples, pears, guava, prunes, and papaya.
- drink adequate amount of water.
- get enough of exercise for it will help your bowel keep moving.
If your constipation still persists even though you have tried various common sense measures, seek the help of physician. For more information about constipation treatment, visit http://www.newcolonsweep.com

You need to take a stool softener - NOT a laxative! It may take a day or so before things start to move, but a stool softener will soften up the blockage, thus making your first bowel movement less painful. It'll also soften everything else up and help regulate your system. Laxatives will only liquify the stool behind your blockage, and possibly dehydrate you.

enema ... saline works better and is easier to clean ... seeing a doctor wouldn't be a bad idea ... you may need to change your diet if this happens more than once a year ...
