we have yeast naturally in our bodies, if u go to the doctors it is treatable, if left can cause infection, it will not kill u, but might end up very uncomfortable if in the lower region, but if in the mouth (oral thrush) can cause sore leision inside the mouth, this is also treatable

i don't think it can be fatal; just extremely uncomfortable. I think you can go to a free clinic and get information, and perhaps treatment. Also yogurt, contains a bacteria that helps regulate the pH balance in your nether regions... drink lots of water stay away from sugars and alcohol especially beer.

"Jeffrey" is the only one who understood your questions and answered them all. Yeast is not bacteria, it's a fungus just as mold is. We do have resident flora in and out of our bodies. Bacteria and yeast coexist in a delicate balance and keep eachother's numbers in check. If the balance is upset, if one bacteria is decimated that would otherwise control yeast, then yeast can multiply to numbers that can cause an infection, called candidiasis. Candiasis can be (for example) vaginal, oral, esophageal and systemic (already mentioned by good Jeffrey). Fungal infections are generally difficult to get rid of (vaginal candidiasis is a notable exception) and can take up to a year or more of daily antifungal medication to resolve depending on the severity and location. I suspect that up until now, the only yeast infection you'd ever heard of was vaginal candidiasis although you didn't know the correct name for it. You'd never be able to endure the itching to ignore it for very long. Letting this go puts you at risk for introducing the Candida to another body system, i.e. urinary tract, and worse.

see a doctor

If you think you have one, just make an appointment with an OB GYN and if you KNOW you have one, go get some Monistat or other equivalent medicine right away. If I am not mistaken, if you let one go super super long, it can hurt your reproductive system. Also, try eating some plain yogurt with honey. Yogurt helps yeast infections and stay away from breads.

A yeast infection is caused when we have too much bacteria in our bodies..it can also be caused if you have been on a certain type of antibiotic for a long period of time and your bodys homeostasis is thrown off. All you need to do is to buy an over the counter yeast cream and apply as directed. It will clear up in a few days. If by some chance it dosent, they consult your gynocologist for a prescription medication. No worries darlin!

Years ago I had a yeast infection for many months. It finally got so bad that I sat down in the shower and cried. When I did go to the doctor he jumped my behind and I had to use suppositories for three months. They have some pretty good over the counter stuff that you can buy. I don't think it will kill you, but it will make you want to hurt yourself.

Don't ignore a yeast infection, it can't kill you but its a damn nuisance, eat lots of yogurt and smear unflavored yogurt on your vagina and wear a pad. To stop yeast infections from reoccurring eat always a little yogurt everyday, go to the drug store and buy a bottle of Acidophillis and take a capsule as prescribed. It replaces good bacteria and will prevent further infections, is also very good for your intestines and if you ever get anti-biotic it is a must to take them as the anti biotic will kill all bad bacteria and also all the good one that you need.

Yeast infections are generally cause by an alternation in the normal flora (bacteria etc.) that normally live in various parts of your body like your vagina and intestines. Often times it comes on as a complication of antibiotics therapy (which is also one of a variety of reasons why antibiotics shouldn't be handed like candy). If you have an intact immune system fungal infections are rarely life-threatening.

Fungal infections can be extremely serious in some circumstances such as when people have AIDS, are on chemotherapy, on therapy for organ transplants, or even poorly controlled diabetes. Thrush (yeast infections of the mouth) and vaginal yeast infections are usually quite simple to treat, but systemic (blood stream) infections can be deadly.
