I am 17 and average weight
my main concern is my doctor wants me back in a month, but my heart rate is still up pretty high.this is the 3rd day. Additional Details thanks.other problems are well twice when i could actually feel my heart squeeze extremely tight and my chest felt like it was cving in until i caught my breath.I do have anxiety, but i did think anxiety attacks lasted a least 3 days.my mom is also concerned because heart diseases run on her side of the family(not that im too worried)actually my uncle at one when he was 15 and my mom had one.
Hopefully, your doctor has tested you for hyperthyroidism. My boss had the exact same thing happen to him and it turned to be a thyroid condition. Its a common cause of rapid pulse rates, and it also causes the other types of symptoms you mentioned - its also easily treated. Its good to at least rule this out. There is a simple test for thyroid hormone.
tracada. and that rithem is to fast for humans see a e.r. doctor now. my opion?
Is this a consisent thing with you? That is pretty high. At your age, this is not normal.
A few possibilities. Are you taking any stimulants? ephedra, or cocaine?
Ther other possibility at your age is Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.
There are other possibilities, but I would need more information to diagnose your problem. If you are worried about persistently high heart rate, go see your doctor.
Don't take this the wrong way but....... if your on meth, quit it now. Then go back to the doctors. It seems kind of odd that the doctor would just send you away and tell you to come back in a month. I'm thinking that if he said that then it must not be a big concern. And when you go back if you dont get the answers that your looking for, find another doctor. Maybe a specialist. Good Luck!!!!!
Tachycardia means a fast heart rate. The normal adult heart rate, or pulse, ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute. A heart rate that continues to beat above 100 beats per minute is called tachycardia.
Tachycardia can occur naturally, for example, when you are exercising. It can also be caused by serious, life-threatening heart problems.
YOU HAVE TACHACARDIA , THIS IS A BIG FANCY MEDICAL TERM FOR FAST HEART BEAT. AT YOUR AGE IT SHOULDN'T BE HIGHER THAN 90 UNLESS VERY ACTIVE. ANXIETY COULD BE A POSSIBLE FACTOR,.....I WOULD QUESTION EVERYTHING THAT MIGHT BE A STRESSOR IDENTIFY AND EVALUATE WHAT YOU CAN ELIMINATE!!
MOST ASUREDLY, I WOULD REQUEST A ULTRASOUND OF HEART, AND AN EKG. TO ELIMINATE ANY SERIOUS IRREGULARITIES, ENLARGEMENTS, OR STENOSIS OF VESSELS.
GOOD LUCK...............MAKE SURE YOUR DR. DOESN'T DROP THE BALL ON THIS. IF IT CONTINUES ...OR WORSENS ESP. WITH ANY ACCOMPANING SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR TIGHTNESS IN CHEST .....HAVE SOMEONE TAKE YOU TO NEAREST E.R FOR A COMPREHENSIVE EVAL. OR CALL 911
