My little sister is 15 and she has been over weight for a very long time (as far as she's concerned) I suggested yoga to her, not as a form of excersise but more for limbering up her muscles so she can move easier, now I can't stop her even if I wanted to. She has also started seriously gong to the gym.
So I say find what you LOVE to do as far as gyming goes, and don't stop until you reach your goal.
Be blessed.

Try the South Beach diet! Search it on the internet. I tried it and I swear by it. I lost 15lbs in 2 weeks. Basically- for 2 weeks, you completely cut off carbs and sugar. Then you will slowly reintroduce good carbs. Read it. The best part of it is that after the 2 weeks, your body is kind of trained to accept the good food and your cravings for carbs and sugar kinda goes away....

Don't Listen to what other people say about your weight or dieting at all. You probably are worried you'll have to eat gross, tasteless food to lose weight. I have a simple way for you to get healthier. Eat whole-wheat shredded mini wheats with frosting for breakfast and other healthy cereals for breakfast for a month. For lunch, buy a milk at the school cafeteria, bring one dessert from home (JUST ONE), have some raw veggies or fruit(carrot sticks, snap peas, strawberries, apple, etc.), a main course (sandwich, wrap, cold pasta, fruit salad, leftover chicken, yogurt cup, etc.), and some crackers with honey or cream cheese or a small bag of sunchips. Don't buy lunch at school anymore, instead, make it at home, so you know exactly what goes into it.
Use a smaller plate. Because dinner plates are so big, when you put the serving you should actually put on it, there's a lot of empty space. Instead use a smaller plate. You'll consume closer to the right amount. Salads are great, but as soon as you drown it in dressing, the benefits of all those greens are counter balanced with all the fat, oil, and other stuff in the dressing. If you just can't let go of the dressing, put a small dish by your plate filled with dressing. For every bite of salad, dip the tongs of your fork into the dressing, and then get a big bite of salad.
Eat slower. Are you always eating on the go? Put more time aside for meals, such as forty instead of twenty minutes.
Don't watch TV and eat. When you get the urge to eat while you are watching TV, turn off the TV, walk into an entirely different room, and look away from TV. Just don't do it. You consume more than you would in front of the TV, because you aren't paying attention to what you are putting in your body.
Read the labels. I don't really care about the calories, but if you read how much the Serving size is and compare that to how much you are serving yourself, it will put it into perspective. Look for some protein and a whole lot of fiber on labels, not to mention vitamins and minerals at the bottom. Look at what is in the ingredients. Aviod fruit juice with High Fructose Corn Sryup in it, because it's really bad for you and can be in a bunch of food, even when you don't think it is.
Whole wheat. Never let your parents buy white bread again. I know you think it's gross, but you'll adapt. I've been eating whole-wheat for a long time, and I won't even eat white bread ( i hate the texture now.)

Exercise- PE is there for a reason. I know most people hate it, but if you participate in it, you'll get more exercise. No more of this "i kinda exercise." you need "I DO EXERCISE!!!"
Walk as much as possible. Instead of taking an elevator, take the stairs, instead of calling someone on the phone who lives just next door, walk next door. Get off the bus a little earlier and walk home. Run in place while you are watching TV. It's all about doing just a little bit more. Are you required in PE to do 2 running laps? Run 2 and a half.
Remember, once you start losing pounds, you'll also be gaining muscle if you are getting enough exercise, so your weight will drop and then climb just a few, because muscle weighs more than fat.
It will take a couple months to lose all your excess, but you'll probably feel the difference the first couple days! In a month, if you stick to it, you'll probably be able to see a little difference.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I'm gonna answer you straight from my heart & hope you will think about it cause I've been there! You cannot create a healthy body by going on a 'DIET'! You have to learn how to eat healthy for the rest of your life. Because you are a teen it would be unrealistic to say no junk food, but if you will eat healthy 90% of the time it'll be okay to splurge every so often. Your goal should be to be healthy, if you eat healthy you WILL lose weight. You'll lose it slowly but I promise you it will stay off. Your first step should be to cut out ALL fried foods. There are a lot of options at fast food rest. now that you can choose from. Since you are still living at home (I'm assuming) you wil have to have support from the person that does the meal prep. in your house. Talk to them. Offer to fix your own meals if its a burden to them. Slowly cut out all proccesed sugar. That means in sodas, sweet snacks etc., but I suggest you go to the Best Life Diet web site. It's easy to follow, easy to read & it costs you nothing for the information. The most important thing I want to convey to you is to please be happy with who you are, you have been given a wonderful, beautiful body, you really are a miracle. It's so sad that people judge you by your outward appearence but they do, I know. And I know this doesn't help you right now but that is their burden to bear, not yours. The healthier you become, the more confidence you'll have to know you don't want people in your life like that anyway. You want to be healthy for YOU,not them. Good luck to you and your beautiful, precious self, and 105 lbs is too thin for you!

First of all, 50 pounds seems like a little too much weight to lose. Go for a more reasonable goal, like 35 pounds. If you were to lose 50 pounds, it would take you 5 months to do so if you were motivated enough.

As for dieting - send me a message and I can make you a diet plan.

I also have a weight loss blog where I have advice for weight loss. The link is below.

the best thing to do is exercise and eat healthy...
more fruits, fresh veges salads with red and yellow peppers etc... but at the same time u MUST make sure not to starve urself... because when u do tht u don't lose weight! i know tht seems wierd but it's true... trust me...
also a good breakfast is totally essential when ur dieting... try something healthy like whole wheat toast, oatmeal or an omelette!
also what helps me loads is to eat enough through out the day and then have my smallest meal at dinner time... healthy snacking (like nuts) is important between meals if u get hungry don't starve urself!
and best of luck !
muah!

Eat lots of fruits and vegatables. Carrots and celery help you loose weight, so eat one of those healthy snacks when you have a hunger craving (with NOTHING on them! No dip or anything). Eat 3 meals a day, but do not overeat. Did you know that your clentched fist is the size of your stomach? Do not eat anymore than your clentched fist size. Also, make sure to excersise regularly. Ride your bike, go for a walk or a jog, join a sports team, etc. Good luck!

just donate your food to poor people and see how they eat it . and run to buy more from market but donate that also . do this practice for four times a day .Stop using lift in office or any other place and never think that you are doing any practice to loose weight and never even talk about to yours freinds.only one month ,you shall loose 30 lbs.

Well if you exercise and eat good for five weeks you should lose 25 lbs. Work hard and it could be 50 lbs gone in a month!

well if you're 13 u still are gonna grow a little so that will take care of the problem a little bit but for the rest just join your local gym and run on ur school track or around your neighborhood, and eat healthy foods like salads nothing fried like grilled chicken instead of fried chicken etc. eating bad food is alright every once in a while but ur body needs vegetables to run. also like when you come home from school instead of eating chips eat an apple or some carrots or something

dashiznits
It will probably take a long time (6 months give or take). you should exercise a lot and eat lots of healthy food such as wheat bread and foods with whole grain. dont forget to eat fruits and vegetables too. make a food chart of what you are going to eat each week. do what ever you can to exercise (i.e. ride a bike, get involved with a sport, or run.) Be sure to stay on task! good luck.

Kelly
Listen, if you want to lose weight maybe you should not eat as many sweets. You should stick with the healthy foods like veggies, fruit, and meat. I know everyone loves sweets but this is a life changing thing. If you don't want to be made fun of I suggest you take my advice. You should run 1 mile every day for about 1 month and see how that goes. If it doesn't work lift weights, sprint (run really fast) and it all turns out good. I used to be heavy but when I stuck to my goals I lost a lot of weight. I still run everyday and it's not as hard as it was before. Don't get me wrong this task is going to be phisically and mentally hard but you have to pray that God will guide you through this and at the end trust me it definatly will pay off. Good luck!! p.s. when someone makes fun of you remember the rules, say " In a few months i'll be able to outrun you" and the truth is you will.

A third of your body weight is a big lot to lose. Crash diets are no good because no-one can keep them up. Just exercise more and eat less but gradually. Try foods that fill you up but have few calories such as beans & avoid rich fatty food like burgers

Kari S
Well your still really young so don't do anything drastic like starving yourself because you'd end up gaining the weight back x2.

You can run, dance, rollerblade etc. There are plenty of healthy ways to loose weight. Watch what your eating. If it calls for a serving, eat a serving...not 3-4. (it's hard to do, I know). Not everyone is built like a toothpick. :)

If you drink a 20oz pop, thats 2.5 servings! and so on. Just stick to portions for now. That will keep you eating what you want but not starving you or making you feel like your loosing out on the "good food". Also reduce the amount of fast food...can't stress that enough. There are healthy options now like subs with wheat bread and no mayo or fat free mayo....
stuff like that.

The key to exercise is NOT to hate it...which is hard. But if you can find something you like to do, do it! Don't kill yourself doing crunches or push ups. Have mom park farther from your school or farther from the super-market, All of those things help, trust me.

I usually run up the front steps with stuff in my hands, or jog into the super market. Funny but always doign stuff like that (all the things I have mentioned) keeps me thin. PS- I am 23. Also know that I was at my heaviest point in JR High...thats when your still in your baby fat phase...literally. Your body begins to change and your feeling chubby but it goes away!

Paulette
First I would tell you not to get to crazy about losing weight.
Just try to eat healthy and be active. You are going to keep growing in height, until you are about 18. So you have five more years.

First No seconds. Take one plate with some of everything and not gigantic servings. Drink plenty of water, no sodas or very sweet drinks. They have a lot of calories. Start reading the nutrition information on the food you eat and drink. Think low calorie.

Walk and bike as much as you can. This will help burn off the extra weight.

Try to do a Yoga class from PBS of TV. This will help you be more flexible and become more calm.

Try to stay away from fried foods, sweets and white foods, like rice, potatoes and pasta. If you eat them keep them to small portions.

Good Luck you can do it. When you cut out the extras your stomach will shrink and you will want less food. Try to eat lots of veggies and fruits .

Good Luck.

Just don't go overboard. First off, stop snacking. Don't eat less, just stop snacking. Cut out chips (fries) and sweets and crisps (chips?) if you can. Darn being english is confusing! ALWAYS eat breakfast, or you'll put on weight, because it will slow your metabolism. 3 square meals a day, eating sensibly. Fruit and veg, and swap your white bread for brown if you can.

Exercise...see if you can get a friend to do it with you, because otherwise if you are anything like me, you will never commit enough. Go for runs maybe, or join some exercise classes in your area. Stuff like aerobics and steps classes are really good for working up a sweat.

Hope I helped xx

leafmom
50 lbs? Kinda extreme. Start with small goals, 5 or 10 lbs. It is more important to lose fat than weight. If you start excercising, decrease carbs and increase nourishing food you will start to build muscle and that wieghds more than fat, so you could end up healthy and not weigh 105
Get your family involved if possible

A . Z .
First of all poo them all!!! Get down to your local G.P., say your worried about your health and want a nutritional programme set up. Then you must follow it and don't give up!! Go to these people as they will give you a healthy option which you need as you are still growing. This is important!! Time is on your side, your taking the right steps, you no longer want people to laugh at you and they wont.

Gd luck

ryan h
jog really really push yourself. eat smaller meals like 5-6 small meals a day but the key to losing weight is staying away form fast food and junk food with sugar and high fats. check the backs of boxes and see the facts on the back don't get anything unhealthy. but you really need to stick to a good diet and exercise. so good luck to you and your journey
