the best thing u should do is get ur teeth checked fast. something serious could be happening. and i dont mean to scare u but on the news a few months ago, a little boy diedbecause he had an infected tooth. the dentist will take care of ya. |

i have had teeth pullen out by a dentist they give u something so u dont feel ur gums and ur teeth and pull it out by the time ur feeling in ur teeth come back there won't be anything but an irrating itch around ur gums |

my friend had his wisdom teeht pulled out last year (15 years old) AND WOW HIS RIGHT SIDE OF THE FACE SWELLED UP SOOOOOO MUCH it was funny.
He looked like the guy from the goonies, lol but way funnier.
And yah, he told me it hurt, plus by looking at his face, you could tell it hurt...damn man i felt sorry for him, but yet it was still humorous. |

I just got mine out on monday! Here's what happened to me:
Day 1: I woke up and threw up. I did not feel nauseous, but i threw up randomly throughout the day (my doctor said that only happens to one out of 200 people so i'm special) I kept ice on it all day and wold take 3 ibuprofens every 6 hours.
Day 2: I havent taken any of the prescription pain meds. My face only hurt when i moved it, it was a little swolen but i kept ice on it. Only took the ibuprofens.
Day 3+: totally fine. Barely hurts and i feel normal. I just eat (soft things) with my front teeth
Today (day 7): completely healed up and eat whatever. They give you a squirty thing to rinse out your mouth e2-3 times a day.
If you can avoid taking the pain meds, do it. It makes you get back on your feet a lot sooner. The pain was not really that bad unless you poke at your mouth. |

ok put it this way im 14 and still have one baby tooth that wont come out lol...I have to get that pulled out so when you get them pulled out think of me the girl on yahoo answers who is 14 and who might not live lol xD |

Everyone is different, but for me, it was easy and relativly painless for the two above the gumline, but the two impacted really hurt and took a while to heal...good luck |

A lot of times the medication doesn't cause nausea. I know that of all the times I've been put to sleep for various procedures (multiple times) I only experienced nausea once. The anesthesia won't harm you at all- otherwise millions of people wouldn't use it worldwide every day. The time after the wisdom teeth get pulled will be pretty uncomfortable, I hate to say. You can take medicines like Motrin to ease that pain. Once the procedure is finished though and you have fully recovered, you'll be so happy that you got them pulled because they will never cause you discomfort again. |

It's different for different people. Mine hurt like hell for two weeks, and I missed a week of work... my sister had hers done at the same time as mine, and was back at work the next day.
You will live though. :) I promise. |

I had the wisdom tooth on my right side pulled a few years ago. They just numbed it did their drilling while wide awake was good times. Unable to talk for a day slim fast and jello while waiting for mouth to heal. Lost 15 lbs so that was good part. I regret not getting the left pulled when they asked now I have to get that pulled and I been putting it off cause I have a job that requires me to talk a lot. So you will survive!! Though I do not trust those anesthesia that put you to sleep. |

Yes they have medicine for they nausea and they dont have to give u anesthesia but no it wont harm u I just had 2 teeth cut out and was back at work the next day |

Relax it's not that bad. Just follow the instructions they give you. Don't eat before the anesthesia, etc. They knock you out for just a few minutes and it's over before you know it. Just follow the doctor's instructions and take it easy for a few days. |

Having your teeth pulled is a fast and easy process. You'll get medication for the pain afterwards. |

Complications are when problems occur during or after the operation. Most people are not affected. The main possible complications of any surgery include excessive bleeding during or soon after the operation, infection, and an unexpected reaction to the anaesthetic. Complications may require further treatment such as having another operation to stop bleeding, or antibiotics to treat an infection.
Specific complications of having wisdom teeth extracted are uncommon but may include accidental damage to other teeth.
It's possible to develop a condition called dry socket. This is when the blood clot breaks away from the wound exposing the bone and nerves to air, food and fluids. This can cause pain and delay healing. This usually occurs two days after surgery and can last about 5 to 7 days.
Occasionally nerves in the jaw can be damaged, either by the surgery or by swelling afterwards. This can cause temporary numbness or "pins and needles" in the lower lip or tongue after having lower wisdom teeth removed. There's a small chance this altered sensation could be permanent.
The risk of complications depends on the exact position of the wisdom teeth, the type of anaesthetic used and other factors such as your general health. This is one of the reasons why we have not included statistics here. Ask your surgeon to explain how these risks apply to you. |

So long as you get put to sleep during the operation, it'll be okay. Don't worry about freaky stuff happening to you, even if it did, you won't remember it. The pain last a few days after words, but it's definetly not nearly as bad as you probably think it is. |

I was put under and remember nothing. It wasn't so bad. I even had the empty sockets that can happen but a couple of tylenol#3s made that a non-issue.

I'm 15 and I'm supposed to get my wisdom teeth out by the end of May.
I was pretty scared so I asked my boss (who's like my dad) and he said his son's dentist told him that he needed them out or it would get worse, so he got them out and 3 months later it had gotten much worse. His son had to go back in and have part of the bone cut out and then repaired because it wasn't even the wisdom teeth that were giving him the problem, it was an infection in the gums.

I got mine out last December, and it wasn't too bad.
The type of anesthesia they used for me was conscious sedation. They just stuck something in my IV, and I don't remember barely any of it. I remember one little part: I heard a crack, which was my tooth, and I thought, "Ow, that hurts. I should scream." But I didn't because I couldn't really feel it hurt. No nausea whatsoever, anyway.
It took me a few days to recover. I was glad I did it over Christmas break, so I didn't have to worry about missing school. The painkillers did nothing for me. The ice was the best thing.
But it's okay. |

First, are you going to an Oral Surgeon? If so, they are going to knock you out to take those teeth out. It is the best sleep you will ever have! My daughter had hers out a year ago and it was so totally a neat experience she said. She woke up, teeth gone, area was numbed so it wouldn't hurt when she woke up. Got her pain pills filled at Drugstore and everything was fine. Seriously, it is a very easy procedure and you really are in a twilight state. You don't remember a thing but apparently can respond to people around you. Be sure to schedule some time you can rest afterwards, for a couple of days at least. |

First your eyes will turn black then your cheeks will puff up like a chipmunk. Then your hair will fall out in big chunks and you will suffer from severe nose bleeds and horrendous headaches.
Just kidding! In about a week you will be just fine!! Just wont be able to eat much! |

I had mine out when i was 18 years old. It does hurt afterwards but it heals and gets better..
I am a very sensitive person when it comes to any type of drug.. and I have never had a problem with anesthesia. I have also had 8 other surgeries and the wisdom teeth removal was the easiest. I think when you are younger you heal faster.
I really think you need to talk to your doc about your concerns. He/she is the best able to tell you what you will be experiencing. Knowing before you go will lessen any kind of anxiety!

I was freaked too but it wasn't that bad. They sedate you pretty lightly - the whole thing take about 1/2 hour is all - so nausea is unlikely. You'll pretty much sleep all day after and pain meds will take care of the rest for the next day or two. After that you won't need them.
I was terrified but it wasn't too bad. |

OK here is how my experience was.. I was 17 in high school and I went into the chair. The doctor gave me a shot and the last thing I remembered was taking about my fish when all of a sudden I fell into a deep sleep. It felt like 5 minutes passed when the doctor woke me up and said, OK we're all done. I felt really drowsy and my dad drove me home. The ride was a blur. I fell asleep again for a few hours. They gave me vicodin to numb the pain, but the pain itself was not so horrible. I remember taking vicodin on an empty stomach-- now that hurt bad!
Honestly, I am 25 now and I think getting my belly button pierced was more painful than having my wisdom teeth pulled. Just make sure after you clean the holes with a syringe so you don't get an infection. Good luck! |
