Why the defence mechanism of body cant detect the changes in cancer cells ?

minootoo
You have good explanations but.

It does give out few signal but by that time as a rule it has progressed beyond help.

If it is a removable organ then it is removed with the hope that it has not spread to the other tissues, then chemo is given or bone marrow from healthily person is implanted after strong chemo.

But, the fact is the cell just grow very fast, and they are not foreign object or cell.

Ramanna
They are ones own body cells but with abnormal functions. The markers on the cells are not altered hence the body defence mechanism can not detect it.

Its because body's defence system ie the immune cells attack any cell or particle that it recognizes as foreign and not self. But cancerous cells are body's own cell growing at an abnormal rate (cancer is defined as the uncontrolled and uninhibited proliferation of apparently normal cells this growth of a particular type of cells occur at expense of other normal cells ) i hope it helped

Bob
The changes are not enough changes for the bodies immune system to recognize cancer cells as "foreign". The cancer cells are different because they have mutated but not different enough for the bodies natural defenses to attack.

Adumbration
The body recognizes things as foreign by the various proteins, carbohydrates, and other molecules cells have on their outer layers. Cancer is made up of a persons own cells, that basically just grow to fast. There of course is a more to it than that, but basically the cells just don't stop growing. But unfortunately the changes in a cancer cell that causes it to keep growing do not add unknown proteins etc to the outside of the cells, so no way for the body to "detect" them as abnormal.
