Just a little bit of helpful advice...

I don't know if cancer does anything to the immune system, but taking garlic pills everyday will keep your immune system strong and healthy while you get chemotherapy, or radiation treatment, or whatever treatment the doctor gives you. I take garlic pills to prevent colds, and I haven't gotten a cold in like two years. Anyway, take care, and I hope you get through this.

Just say, "Hey, I have to tell you somthing. The doctor recently told me I have cancer. But don't worry about it, i'll fight it."
If you sound confident and not so concerned, they won't panic!
Good Luck!

Why do you want to break it? Just say that you are not very healthy. It's not like it can't be cured if it's detected early. If I were you I would say, "Hey guess what buddy? I've got cancer! Seriously!"

When you are ready to tell your friend you have cancer just say it straight out 1 I have cancer .Then talk to them about it .
They will probably have questions .Don't hold it inside you .
I am a cancer surviver myself ! It helped me to discuse it .
Good luck and stay positive! thats half the battle.

Just ask this friend over and tell them. You can tell them over the phone too. Whatever is easier for you. By telling your friend it will mean you care enough to include them in your life. You'll need all the support you can get. Let your family and friends help you. You would want the same for them. Believe me, you hurt people more by not telling them. I know a young woman with cancer. She had all her friends over to shave her head. She's doing well. She's let everyone help her.
It's hard but if you can, stay positive. You'll get through this. Good Luck ......:)

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor 3 years ago, so I know it's hard to do. What I did was spoke directly with very close friends and family members. I also called my boss at work and told him exactly what was going on. Once I told one person, it got easier. They really appreciated hearing it directly from me. The strange thing was that I found myself reassuring everyone else. I seemed to take it better than anyone else did.

I knew that rumors would start going around so I wanted to be sure that people were kept informed about how I was doing. I got together a list of email addresses and I sent out a mass email to friends and family members and I updated everyone on a fairly regular basis about how I was doing. After I had surgery, my mom sent an email out to these same people, letting them know that my surgery was a success.

Everyone said how much they appreciated hearing directly from me about how things were going, because people are reluctant to ask. Since I did that, another friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer and she did the same thing I did.

It allowed people to send me good wishes by email and gave them the information they wanted without having to call.

Good luck with however you intend to deliver the news. People will be very supportive.

No one that has had cancer before can really answer this question. My best friend died of the horrible disease 3 yrs. ago.He didn't want to tell us,his wife did.And I'm glad she did.We spent allot of time with them before we found out but, seen him almost everyday and was there with him the day he died.He really appreciated us being there for him and his family. And we got to tell him and show him how much we really did care about him. There's no easy way to break this kinda news to anyone,You know as well as I do there's allot of things in life we don't want to do,but, have no choice but to.When you do tell you're friend. You'll find out how much of a true friend they really are.God bless you and good luck.
