Deal With Having a Disorder

Having trouble handling a disorder?

Steps
  1. Accept that you have a disorder. If the disorder you have is not curable, accept that you have it and move on. This may be the hardest step to take, but it is the most important one. Denying you have this disorder does not help the situation. Telling yourself that you’re fine and not seeking help can make matters worse and you can become sicker because of it.
  2. Get support from family and friends. Talk to them about the disorder and what needs to be done about it. Having those closest to you helping you whenever you can, whether you need it or not, always lifts a little weight off of your shoulders.
  3. Learn more about it. Talk to your doctor and look online about similar cases. Learn what some symptoms can be, what you can do to make it better, and what can make things worse.
  4. Keep your spirits up. Being in a good mood and having a positive attitude can help your disorder be not as bad as it seems.
  5. Find treatment. Talk to your doctor and see if there are any medications that can help you with your disorder.
  6. Take better care of your body. Take time everyday to exercise and keep your blood flowing.
  7. Learn to handle stress. Stress can make any disease or disorder worse because your body is being over worked. Whether you have stress or not, try taking on yoga or meditation because it’s healthy for your body and helps you focus more. If you have trouble handling stress, try talking to a specialist to help you get rid of some of it.
