If you're like most, staying healthy and avoiding not-so-good-for-you foods can be hard. But there's a way that anyone can use, and can hopefully help people make healthier food choices and stay away from goodies. Steps
- Remember: you have to want to change your eating habits. If you think you have to but you don't want to, then that won't do you any good, because in a short time, you might mess up and feel terrible.
- Keep in mind that it's almost impossible to entirely give up all treats. After awhile, you'd just go insane and eat a whole tub of ice-cream. Instead, choose one day out of every week to have a treat you totally love, and then the rest of the week stay away from it all. That way you can look forward to something you love, without screwing up.
- Note that if you have the urge to grab a dessert, quickly go somewhere else, to distract yourself. Ride a bike, read, talk to friends...anything but going into the kitchen!
- Try having a healthier dessert, like fruit with some drizzled honey on top. That way you're still filling your desire to eat something, but you are also eating healthy!
- Try eating something every 4-6 hours, so your body can function properly. It's healthy to have 6 or so meals a day, as long as their healthy and not these huge portions!
Tips
- If you go grocery shopping, perhaps you could avoid any un-nutritional foods and then you won't have to worry about lurking in the kitchen for some goodies.
Warnings
- Avoiding goodies is very hard at first. Having a sweet-tooth is hard to get rid of, and even when you don't have goodies, the craving might still be there.
