Want to speed up your reflexes to block that punch or prevent that basketball from hitting you in basketball? Well, there's hope! Steps
- Learn a martial art OR boxing: This will help increase the speed of your reflexes as well as improve body and hand-eye coordination.
- Take up a physical sport; Some suggestions:
- Tennis (Very fast paced, Improves reflexes and hand-eye coordination because of the quick reflexes required to hit the ball back in time and on target)
- Soccer (Improves leg reflexes)
- Basketball (Trains both arms and legs)
- Video games: This may sound stupid but can actually be quite important fast paced video games are known to increase hand-eye coordination (Doctors have been known to recommend video games to people with bad hand-to-eye coordination.
- Take up an activity like juggling/foot bagging (hackysack)
- If none of these appeal to you, you always have the option of playing catch.
Tips
- Have fun while you do this! You can even bring in your kids or younger siblings. Let's face it, who doesn't like throwing a pillow at someone else?
- Experiment with different things to get your reflexes going like having someone throw a soft pillow at you and see how fast you can block it.
Warnings
- Try to avoid silly reflex testers on the Internet, you can do it for fun but they will not improve your reflexes in anyway: Example of "Reflex Tester" http://www.happyhub.com/network/reflex/
